Daiku no Hatō (manga)
Daiku no Hatō (第九の波濤, “The Ninth Wave”) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Michiteru Kusaba. It was serialized in Shogakukan‘s Weekly Shōnen Sunday from April 2017 to April 2023.
Publication
Written and illustrated by Michiteru Kusaba, Daiku no Hatō started in Shogakukan‘s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday on April 19, 2017. Kusaba stated that Ivan Aivazovsky‘s The Ninth Wave inspired the series’ title and he wanted to make a work that leave the same impression that he got from the painting. The series ended on April 26, 2023. Shogakukan has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on September 15, 2017. As of March 16, 2023, 22 volumes have been released.
